Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security oversight across a large software development and systems‑integration environment in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The role requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to guide security architecture and compliance.

You will partner with cybersecurity experts, engineers, and leadership to protect high‑value systems, develop and maintain SSPs and system security plans, and drive remediation across

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of ISSO experience, independently or in teams.
• At least 5 years using tools to support IAVA management.
• At least 5 years using tools to prepare SSPs and security documentation.
• Knowledge of security tools, encryption, and secure communications.
• Experience evaluating software systems for security requirements.
• Experience implementing information systems security policies on large programs.
• Experience in day-to-day security operations of large systems.
• Strong initiative and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Assist in evaluating security solutions to meet security requirements for processing multiple information types.
• Assist with configuration management for security software, hardware, and firmware.
• Analyze threats and implement incident detection, reporting, and remediation methods.
• Maintain asset records for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, and switches.
• Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet information processing requirements.
• Maintain operational security posture for information systems.
• Support ISSM in maintaining proper IA posture for systems/programs/enclaves.
• Develop and maintain Certification & Accreditation documentation.
• Develop and update system security plans and IA documentation.
• Support IAVA management and security scans, patching, and remediation.
