J&T Business Consulting invites applications for a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in Annapolis Junction, MD. A TS/SCI with full poly is required, reflecting a senior role with responsibility for safeguarding complex information systems.

Salary ranges from $140,000 to $190,000, with responsibilities spanning policy enforcement, risk management, and IA documentation across large software and IT programs.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 10 years of experience as an ISSO, independently or on teams.
• Must have at least 5 years using tools to support IAVA management.
• Must have at least 5 years using tools to prepare, maintain, and manage SSPs and related docs.
• Knowledge of security tools, hardware/software security, protocols, and encryption tools.
• Experience completing security evaluations of software or architectures.
• Experience coordinating and enforcing information systems security policies and standards.
• Experience performing day-to-day security operations of large information systems.
• Commitment to best practices in information security.
• High self-initiative and team-oriented problem solving.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementing and enforcing information systems security policies and standards.
• Assist in evaluating security solutions to meet requirements for processing multiple types of information.
• Assist with Configuration Management for security software, hardware, and firmware.
• Analyze threats and implement incident detection, reporting, and remediation.
• Maintain records on hardware and network devices including upgrades.
• Maintain operational security posture for information systems.
• Provide support to ISSM for maintaining IA posture.
• Develop and maintain Certification & Accreditation documentation.
• Develop and update system security plans and IA docs.
• Support IAVA management (responses, scans, remediation, patches).
• Provide CM for security-relevant software, hardware, and firmware.
• Develop system security policy and ensure compliance.
• Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms.
