Peraton is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to support Federal Strategic Cyber programs in Washington, DC. You will lead a team through RMF lifecycle activities, guiding categorization, control selection, and continuous monitoring to sustain compliance.

The role requires DoD 8140.03 proficiency, CISSP or CEH with multiple endorsements, and an active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain a polygraph. Cloud certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience in secure design, analysis, and test of information security systems and products.
• 8 years of experience applying methods, standards and approaches for ensuring baseline security safeguards are documented.
• 8 years of experience creating and updating security test plans for detecting and mitigating risk.
• Must meet DoD 8140.03 Advanced proficiency aligned to Security Architect or Security Control Assessor.
• CISSP or CEH and 1 of the listed certifications or advanced degree as specified.

Responsabilités

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of contractor security professionals for RMF lifecycle implementation.
• Oversee Prepare step activities with defined roles, responsibilities, and risk strategies.
• Guide system categorization to classify information systems by mission impact and regulations.
• Advise on selection and documentation of security controls aligned with categorization and compliance.
• Oversee implementation of technical, operational, and management controls across lifecycles.
• Ensure security control assessments are planned, executed, and documented for effectiveness.
• Prepare risk management documentation for system authorization and executive decisions.
• Direct ongoing monitoring and continuous assessment with metrics to adjust strategies.
• Serve as principal technical advisor on cybersecurity including risk analysis and audit support.
• Foster security awareness and provide guidance and training to team and stakeholders.
• Track, report, and communicate status, risks, and improvements to leadership.
