Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Sr Information Systems Security Officer - Cloud to support Federal Strategic Cyber programs, located in Washington, DC. You will guide categorization, advise on controls, and oversee lifecycle security implementations while coordinating risk management and audits.

The role requires 9+ years in CS/cybersecurity with ISSO experience at a cleared facility, plus cloud certifications and TS/SCI with polygraph eligibility. Strong collaboration and leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT or related discipline.
• 9+ years in CS or cybersecurity with at least 7 years as ISSO at a cleared facility.
• Must have one of the following certifications: CISSP, GISP, or CASP+ / SecurityX.
• Must have at least one cloud certification: AWS Security Specialty, CCSP, AWS SA Associate, AZ-500, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
• Must meet DoD 8140.03 Advanced proficiency aligned to ISSM (Work Role 722); multiple certs or advanced degrees listed.
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST guidance, and security best practices.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Guide system categorization efforts to ensure proper classification based on mission impact and regulatory requirements.
• Advise on security controls aligned with categorizations, risk appetite, and compliance.
• Oversee implementation of security controls across system lifecycles.
• Ensure security control assessments are planned, executed, and documented.
• Prepare risk management documentation for system authorization and executive decision-making.
• Direct ongoing monitoring and continuous assessment activities with metrics.
• Serve as principal technical cybersecurity advisor for risk analysis, incident response and audit support.
• Foster security awareness and provide technical guidance and training.
