Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Sr Information Systems Security Officer to support Federal Strategic Cyber programs in Winchester, VA. You will apply cybersecurity standards and implement security controls in line with RMF and NIST guidance.

This role requires deep RMF v5 experience, policy development (SSP/SSPP), and collaboration with IT teams to remediate STIGs and manage POA&M. A TS/SCI with polygraph ability is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 9+ years in cybersecurity with ISSO/ISSE roles at a cleared facility.
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a polygraph.
• Must hold one of listed certifications (e.g., CISSP, CASP+).

Responsibilities

• Apply cybersecurity program standards, processes, and frameworks.
• Implement and assess controls per RMF v5 and NIST guidance.
• Develop security policies, SSP/SSPP and assess ATO artifacts.
• Collaborate with IT, translate complex tech for non-tech audiences.
• Use RMF v5 workflows and eMASS to manage status, controls, POA&Ms.
• Ensure Security Authorization documentation compliance.
• Coordinate STIG remediation with admins and developers.
• Conduct risk assessments and monitor security incidents.
• Understand network, OS, databases, and security architectures.
