Job summary

Applied Information Sciences seeks a Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer (ISSE) to lead RMF lifecycle activities across federal IT systems, delivering secure design, risk management, and continuous monitoring.

You will mentor teams, coordinate security controls, prepare authorization packages, and advise stakeholders on NIST standards and compliance. This role supports mission-critical programs with a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 8+ years of experience in secure design, analysis, and testing of information security systems and products.
• 8+ years applying cybersecurity methods to ensure security safeguards are implemented and documented.
• 8+ years developing and maintaining security test plans to identify and mitigate system risks.
• Demonstrated experience leading RMF lifecycle activities (Prepare, Categorize, Select, Implement, Assess, Authorize, Monitor).
• Strong understanding of NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, and related federal cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experience supporting system authorization (ATO) processes and documentation deliverables.
• CISSP or CEH certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead RMF lifecycle across IT systems and oversee end-to-end security delivery.
• Coordinate Prepare steps, defining roles, responsibilities, and risk strategies.
• Guide system categorization to align with mission impact and compliance.
• Advise on security controls selection, tailoring, and documentation.
• Oversee implementation of technical, operational, and management controls.
• Ensure security control assessments are planned, executed, and documented.
• Prepare and review authorization package documentation for ATO decisions.
• Direct continuous monitoring, including metrics collection and reporting.
• Serve as cybersecurity advisor for risk analysis, incident response, and audits.
• Mentor teams and provide security training to stakeholders.
