Job summary

Sompo North America is seeking a Senior Underwriter for our Large Property team to support real estate, hospitality, financial institutions, and professional services accounts. The role requires strong underwriting acumen, risk assessment, and the ability to price complex risks across various structures.

You will review submissions, apply Sompo guidelines, and collaborate with brokers to maintain profitable growth in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of underwriting/insurance experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience with real estate, hospitality, financial institutions, professional services and technical risks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive acceptable submission activity and determine risk acceptability per Sompo guidelines.
• Review applications and financial requirements to determine risk acceptability.
• Price risks using pricing components and models; analyze financial factors.
• Maintain underwriting discipline and minimize exposure while pricing risks.
• Keep current on state regulations and market trends.
