Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Senior IP Docket Specialist to monitor and docket IP matters, manage deadlines, and ensure accuracy across US and foreign filings. The role reports to the Senior IP Docket Manager and supports training for the central docketing team.

Strong IP docketing experience and proficiency with PattsyWave/Foundation IP/CPi are essential. The position offers remote flexibility, or placement at any firm location, with opportunities to work with cross‑functional teams and

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or Paralegal Certificate; 4-year degree preferred.
• 10+ years IP docketing experience with PattsyWave, Foundation IP, or CPi.
• Advanced knowledge of US and foreign patent/trademark prosecution procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe, and NetDocs; Excel expertise.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure accurate entry and date calculation for docket entries.
• Assist Senior IP Docketing Manager with training of the Central Docketing team.
• Review documents to identify deadlines and docket accordingly.
• Review USPTO and foreign filings for accuracy against agency websites.
• De‑docket completed deadlines and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure accuracy of timekeepers and update matters in IP docketing system.
• Create, review, schedule and distribute advanced docket reports for patent/trademark cases.
• Respond to requests from timekeepers and staff regarding deadlines and rules.
• Collaborate to improve docketing practices and processes.
• Onboard incoming portfolios and process transfers.
• Oversee QA review for filings and flag errors.
• Open new matters in PattsyWave for foreign/domestic filings.
• Enter all due dates from correspondence into the docketing system.
• Assist with special projects and stay current with IP rules.
