Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Senior IP Docket Specialist to manage docketing for patent, trademark, and copyright matters across the United States. You will oversee entry accuracy, deadlines, and timekeepers, using PattsyWave and related systems, under the Senior IP Docket Manager's guidance.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years IP docketing experience, a paralegal certificate or related degree, and strong knowledge of US and foreign filing rules.

Qualifications

• 2‑year degree or Paralegal Certificate required; 4‑year degree preferred in related field
• 10+ years IP docketing experience with proficiency using PattsyWave, Foundation IP, or CPi
• Advanced knowledge of US and foreign patent and trademark prosecution procedures
• Maintenance Fee‑Annuity‑Renewal processes for patent and trademark modules
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, DMS systems; ability to manage large spreadsheets
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical abilities, research and resourcefulness
• Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands in a fast‑paced environment
• Keep current with USPTO, PCT, Madrid Protocol and Foreign IP rules and practices

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure accurate entry and date calculation for docket entries
• Assist Senior IP Docketing Manager with training members of the Central Docketing team
• Review documents to ensure deadlines are identified and docketed
• Review USPTO and foreign filings and verify accuracy against agency sites
• De‑docket completed deadlines and resolve discrepancies
• Update timekeepers and docket reports for patent and trademark matters
• Open new matters in PattsyWave for foreign and domestic cases
• Enter all due dates from correspondence into the docketing system
• Stay current with changes in IP filing rules and practices
