Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. (MBRDNA) seeks a senior IP attorney to lead the North American IP & Patents team and shape the company’s IP strategy. The role is based in San Jose, Atlanta, or Ann Arbor, requiring a JD, US bar admission, and 10–12 years of IP experience.

Travel may be required and visa sponsorship is not available. You will manage external counsel, oversee patent prosecution, assess IP rights, and advise on licensing, policy, and litigation,

Qualificações

• JD – Law Degree.
• BS – engineering or science degree (EE/ME/CS/Physics).
• Licensed attorney in a US state and registered to practice before the USPTO.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage the North American IP & Patents team (patent professionals, paralegals, and admins).
• Assess patentability and scope of IP protection aligned with company strategy.
• Advise on IP strategy, licensing, and defensive measures with cross‑functional teams.
• Coordinate with external counsel on prosecution, filings, and litigation where needed.
• Develop and provide IP training for cross‑functional teams and ensure compliance.
