Swiftly is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional team working on edge devices, onboard hardware integrations, and cloud-based services. You will build and scale software that runs on vehicles and communicates with cloud back-end systems, ensuring reliable telemetry, scaling, and observability.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with embedded systems, Linux, and modern stacks (Python, Java, Javascript/Typescript, MQTT, SQL).

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Python, Java, Javascript/Typescript and MQTT.
• Experience with SQL databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and AWS is preferred.
• Hands-on with embedded systems, IoT or edge computing.
• Strong Linux administration and containerization knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain and extend products and features for transit tech.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to define requirements.
• Develop integrations with onboard hardware devices and cloud services.
• Build backend services for device configuration, telemetry and health monitoring.
• Implement over-the-air updates and remote device management.
