Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced mobile software engineer to design, build, and maintain core iOS app layers, including shared libraries, SDKs, and frameworks. You will own and ship user-facing features end-to-end from design through release, and evolve CI/CD pipelines and the iOS release process.

Qualifications

• Multiple years of experience in mobile software development.
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills on mobile software products.
• Proficiency in either iOS or Android development and some level of comfort with the other.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a range of audiences.
• Experience with native Android, native iOS, and cross platform mobile development approaches is a bonus.
• Track record of influencing adjacent engineering teams on best practices or mobile client needs is a bonus.
• Native iOS application engineering experience.
• Experience with iOS native development (e.g. Swift) or cross-platform development (e.g. KMP or React Native).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core iOS app layers, including shared libraries, SDKs, and frameworks.
• Own and ship user-facing features end-to-end from design through release.
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines and the iOS app release process.
• Collaborate with product, engineers, designers, and other cross-functional partners to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Operate existing systems and suggest improvements based on industry best practices.
• Drive incident investigations, postmortems, and retrospectives.
• Advocate for long-term improvements to systems and processes.
• Influence engineering improvements that increase software, testing, and process quality.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction.
• Mentor other engineers.
• Drive projects from ideation through release.
