A leading company in aviation logistics seeks a Logistics Supervisor to manage parts room and warehouse operations. Logistic Specialties, Inc. (LSI) is the Aviation Logistics Support Contractor for the CAL FIRE Aviation Management Unit (AMU). We support CAL FIRE AMU by managing and operating their aircraft maintenance facility's Procurement Department, Parts Rooms, Warehouse, Repair Logistics Oversight, and Industrial Safety/HazMat program.
Under the supervision of the Logistical Support Manager, this position is a supervisory position that oversees both the parts room and the warehouse personnel to provide logistical services in support of aviation management.
Job Responsibilities
• Acts as the liaison for all parts room and warehouse transactions.
• Represent the Parts Room and Warehouse in management meetings and coordination with CALFIRE staff on all aspects related to forecasting and maintaining proper inventories of parts.
• Provides the major interface in shipping and receiving of new, used, damaged, and repaired aircraft parts, components, and related aircraft maintenance material and equipment for the exclusive use on CAL FIRE owned or operated aircraft.
• Ensure the consistency and accuracy of all information entered into the AMU logistical database, as pertinent to all parts inventory and transfer transactions.
• Provides close coordination with CAL FIRE maintenance and the Aircraft Services Contractor’s.
• Quality Control personnel to ensure all aircraft parts, components, and related aircraft
maintenance material and equipment are received and checked for proper Federal Aviation.
• Administration (FAA) or Military Parts Specification Standards (MILSPEC) requirements and are directed to the proper location.
• Ensure compliance with the CAL FIRE Repair Station Manual.
• Ensures that both consumable and rotables minimum and maximum quantities are met in parts rooms, as directed by the CAL FIRE Aviation Officers.
Works with logisticians, procurement and shipping/receiving to ensure routine orders, AOG, work stoppages and core returns are processed within AMU timeframes and procedures.
• Follow parts management procedures as outlined by client.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
• US Citizen
• Successfully pass a drug and background screen.
Desired Qualifications
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience involved in the following: receipt, storage, handling, packing, and shipping of stock as well as performing inventories and maintaining inventory records or two (2) years’ experience working in the Aviation Management Unit’s warehouse or parts room facility in a lead capacity.
• Two (2) years’ experience working with the Aviation Management Unit’s computerized inventory
system.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other types of material handling equipment.
