Job summary

Old World Industries in Northbrook, Illinois is seeking a Senior Inventory Planner to own accuracy and optimization across plants, warehouses, and SAP systems. You will lead reconciliation, physical inventories, cycle counts, and variance investigations.

You will partner with Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Planning to drive root-cause analysis, implement process improvements, and strengthen inventory controls while guiding cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inventory planning, control, or related experience.
• Advanced SAP inventory management experience.
• Experience leading physical inventories, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and accuracy.
• Experience partnering with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly inventory reconciliation across plant records, SAP, and financial books.
• Investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions for month-end close.
• Validate inventory valuations and adjustment postings with Finance and Operations.
• Analyze inventory transactions to identify trends affecting accuracy.
• Ensure adjustments are documented and recorded per policy.
• Lead annual and periodic physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Develop and manage cycle count programs to maintain accuracy.
• Own SAP inventory processes as subject-matter expert.
• Drive KPIs like inventory turns, accuracy, variances; report to leadership.
