Job summary

Senior Specialist, Inventory at dsm-firmenich in New Ulm, MN, onsite, oversees end-to-end inventory management to ensure accurate stock levels and material availability for continuous production. The role collaborates with Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Procurement and Finance to align with site objectives and drive cost efficiency.

Required at least 5 years in inventory or warehousing within manufacturing, with strong ERP/SAP knowledge and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing (food, nutrition, or similar) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods within ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Optimize inventory levels (min/max, safety stock) aligned with production and supply planning.
• Ensure proper stock segmentation (e.g., quality hold, blocked, unrestricted use).
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production.
• Partner with planning and operations teams to align inventory with production schedules.
• Serve as a key liaison between Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Finance.
• Provide reporting and insights to support decision-making and financial accuracy.
