Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant - Inventory to ensure accurate recording of inventory accounting transactions for the Retail division. The role guides others on the inventory accounting team, builds cross-functional relationships, and researches complex inventory issues.

Key responsibilities include closing inventories, performing margin analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on process improvements and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including inventory, cost accounting, inventory controls, financial reporting.
• Experience supporting retail, distribution, manufacturing or other inventory-intensive environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inventory close and financial reporting across channels and locations.
• Develop gross margin and inventory analysis reports.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on inventory initiatives and controls.
• Support audits and compliance with schedules and documentation.
• Represent inventory accounting in projects and system changes.
