Job summary

Design Within Reach is hiring an Inventory Senior Accountant to oversee inventory accounting across brands and locations. You will ensure GAAP compliance, manage reconciliations, and support the close process while strengthening internal controls and reporting.

You will coordinate counts, analyze variances, and partner with Finance Manager and Controller to implement process improvements and system enhancements. Strong Excel and NetSuite experience are required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX.
• Excel skills with PivotTables and lookup functionality.
• NetSuite experience.
• Retail industry experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly inventory close process, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain SOX-compliant controls for inventory and COGS.
• Coordinate and supervise physical inventory across brands and locations.
• Analyze inventory variances, investigate discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
• Support internal and external audits related to inventory accounting.
• Cross-train in other general ledger and accounts payable functions.
