Job summary

Premera is seeking a Senior Interplan Consultant to act as a strategic liaison among Premera, Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans, brokers, consultants, employer groups, and internal partners. The role focuses on renewing and growing Participating Plan business, negotiating terms, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multi-state operations.

You will collaborate with underwriting, operations, sales, and external stakeholders to meet retention and growth goals while aligning with BCBS requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Eight (8) years of experience in healthcare, health insurance, account management, provider contracting, operations, InterPlan services, or related business functions.
• Experience with large employer groups, complex healthcare arrangements, or multi-state health plan operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop renewal and growth strategies for Participating Plan business, including responses to RFIs and RFPs.
• Negotiate Participating Plan and Control Plan contracts and renewals, including service levels, funding arrangements, and reimbursement methodologies.
• Coordinate with underwriting, operations, sales, account management, and external stakeholders to achieve retention and growth objectives.
• Ensure compliance with BCBS Association requirements and contractual obligations.
• Serve as liaison for National Labor Office and Taft-Hartley business activities.
