Job summary

Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington, DC seeks a Manager of Internal Communications to lead internal strategy and editorial oversight for channels including the intranet and Teams. The manager will guide content planning, governance, and platform usability, working with stakeholders to ensure clear, consistent communication and strong staff engagement

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in internal communications or a related field, including staff, project, and/or consultant management.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• Two or more years of direct supervisory experience, including performance management.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Outlook, in a communications or publishing context.
• Experience overseeing or managing an intranet or enterprise internal communications platform.
• Strong ability to shape the visual presentation of internal communications across intranet, digital displays, and multimedia.

Responsibilities

• Execute and evolve the internal employee communications strategy and supporting plans.
• Manage and develop internal communications staff through coaching and performance management.
• Provide editorial leadership and quality oversight for internal communications content across channels.
• Direct editorial planning and calendar management to align with priorities.
• Provide creative direction for visual presentation of internal communications across channels.
• Partner with business units to develop integrated communications plans.
• Advise stakeholders on message framing, sequencing, tone and channel selection.
• Oversee governance and usability of internal communications platforms.
• Evaluate communications effectiveness through analytics and staff feedback.
• Support onboarding and orientation communications for new staff.
• Foster a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible work environment.
