Job summary

The Pew Charitable Trusts seeks a Manager of Internal Communications to lead our internal messaging and staff engagement. Based in Washington, DC, this hybrid role balances in-office collaboration with telework days and four flex weeks per year.

You will supervise internal communications staff, shape editorial direction across intranet, Teams, and staff-facing channels, and partner with leadership to advance Pew's priorities and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in internal/digital communications including staff management.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal employee communications strategy and plans.
• Coach and develop internal communications staff.
• Provide editorial leadership and oversight for content across channels.
• Direct editorial planning and calendar management.
• Oversee visual presentation of internal communications content.
• Partner with business units to align messaging.
• Advise on message framing, tone, and channels.
• Oversee governance of internal platforms and tools.
• Evaluate effectiveness via analytics and feedback.
• Support onboarding communications for new staff.
• Foster DEI and accessible culture.
• Other duties as assigned.
