Job summary

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) seeks a Senior Internal Auditor to join the Internal Audit Division. The role supports planning, testwork, coordination of facility audits, CSB audits, and central office reviews, and prepares draft/final reports.

Travel is required for audits, including overnight trips. A valid driver’s license and adherence to the Commonwealth Driver Safety Program are required.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and conducting a variety of audits.
• Experience assisting in developing the scope and objectives of audit projects.
• Experience developing and communicating findings and recommendations to management.
• Experience managing multiple audit projects concurrently within allocated budget hours.
• Experience developing audit programs and procedures to meet objectives.
• Experience conducting hotline projects and/or special investigations.
• Skilled in Excel, including pivot tables for data analysis.
• Knowledge of auditing standards, processes and professional ethics.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, testwork, and coordination of DBHDS facility audits.
• Assist with CSB audits, operational reviews, and Central Office audits.
• Develop work paper formats and audit programs; prepare draft and final audit reports.
• Perform annual follow up audits and hotline investigations; complete special projects as requested by management.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with IIA standards.
