Job summary

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (Dept Behavioral Health/Develop) seeks a Senior Internal Auditor to join the Internal Audit Division. The role supports planning, testwork, and coordination of facility, CSB, and Central Office audits, plus development of work papers and draft final reports.

Travel is required for audits, including overnight trips. A valid driver's license is required.

Job Duties

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a qualified professional to serve as one of the Senior Internal Auditors in the Internal Audit Division. This position assists with the planning, testwork, and coordination of DBHDS facility audits, assistance with the Community Services Board (CSBs) audits, operational reviews and Central Office audits. In addition, this position assists in the development of work paper formats, audit programs and in the preparation of the Draft and Final audit reports; and performs annual follow up audits, conducts hotline and internal investigations, and completes other special projects as requested by management. This position also participates in the quality assurance activities and reviews required by the IIA Standards. This position is required to travel for audits and special projects to DBHDS facilities, including overnight travel. A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Commonwealth’s Driver Safety Program are required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in planning and conducting a variety of different audits.
• Experience assisting in developing the scope and objectives of the audit projects.
• Experience in developing and communicating findings and recommendations to management.
• Experience in managing multiple audit project assignments concurrently within the allocated project budget hours.
• Experience in developing audit programs, including audit procedures to meet audit objectives.
• Experience in conducting hotline projects and/or special investigations.
• Skilled in Excel, including pivot tables to analyze complex data to arrive at logical conclusions and in identifying and proposing solutions to problems.
• Knowledge of auditing standards, processes and professional ethics.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Additional Considerations

• Certification in one or more related professional areas (CIA, CISA, CFE and CPA).
