Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services seeks an experienced internal auditor to lead audits of healthcare contracts and other programs. You will analyze data using Access, Excel, and SQL, validate KPI results, and prepare formal reports with actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities include supervising junior auditors, planning audit programs, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and government standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 30 credit hours and 3 hours in auditing.
• Four years of experience conducting financial and operational internal audits.
• Experience may be substituted with CPA/CIA, a master’s in accounting, or relevant military service.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits of medical, mental health, pharmacy, and dental contracts for financial and performance KPIs.
• Use data analytics (Access, Excel, SQL) to validate contract performance.
• Conduct reviews of accounting procedures and verify findings from audits.
• Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations.
• Supervise and guide junior internal auditors and assist the supervisor in planning audits.
