Job summary

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking an Internal Auditor to assist the Chief Audit Executive and support IAC’s Fiscal Year Annual Audit Plan. The role requires independence and objectivity with adherence to IIA Global Internal Audit Standards and behavioral expectations.

You will conduct audits and advisory services at all agency levels, including programs receiving federal funds, and collaborate with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required with accounting coursework (12 sem hrs or 18 quarter hrs)
• Three years of audit experience in public or private sector including planning, risk assessment, internal control evaluation, testing, reporting

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct audits and advisory services following IIA standards
• Provide technical advisory services to agencies and programs across DSHS
• Develop risk assessments, audit programs and testing procedures addressing identified risks
• Prepare work papers, findings, and recommendations for senior leadership
