Job summary

Gensler in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Interior Designer to blend creativity and technical skill with business sense to create functional, beautiful spaces. You will manage interior architecture deliverables, lead design development, and mentor teammates while collaborating with clients, consultants, and vendors in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes 3D modeling, Revit proficiency, and FF&E selections for workplace interiors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design or Architecture
• 6–10 years of interior design/architecture experience in a commercial design firm
• 3+ years in workplace interiors design and delivery
• Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, and relationship management skills
• Proficient with Revit; LEED/WELL preferred
• NCIDQ certification (on path acceptable)

Responsibilities

• Interpret client needs and translate into space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, and documentation
• Deliver design solutions using best practices with independent judgment
• Lead FF&E selection, color palettes, and lighting concepts
• Create 3D models and communication views using Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools
• Develop interior finishes, ceilings, elevations, details, and construction documents
• Lead design support during completion and execution of concepts
• Serve as primary contact for external consultants, product reps, and fabricators
• Mentor less experienced teammates
