Job summary

Floor & Decor seeks a Sr. Designer to lead our design team, delivering start-to-finish consultative service that builds customer relationships and brand loyalty.

You will meet with customers, understand project needs, educate on requirements, and craft a design concept aligned with personal style and budget. The role requires a design degree (BA/AA) or 6 years of interior design experience, strong communication, and knowledge of design software.

Qualifications

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) or 6 years interior design experience.
• Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years.
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in Floor & Decor Designer position.

Responsibilities

• Proven ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers.
• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple customer projects with accuracy and timely follow-up.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff.
• Engage in current design trends and utilize design applications like Salesforce and MyProject.
