Job summary

Morris Adjmi Architects, based in New York, seeks an experienced Interior Designer III / Interior Architect III to lead innovative interior projects from concept through construction.

This role requires strong design sensibilities, technical leadership, and the ability to mentor junior designers, coordinating with architects, consultants, and clients to deliver high-quality interiors.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
• 8+ years of professional interior design or interior architecture experience.
• Architecture license required for Interior Architect III.
• NCIDQ, AIA, LEED or other professional accreditation preferred.
• Advanced understanding of project phases and coordination.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and accessibility standards.
• Experience mentoring junior designers and coordinating consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate interior design projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Collaborate with the Interiors Design Director to advance design concepts and project direction.
• Direct client design presentations, renderings, and material selections.
• Serve as primary Interiors contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Oversee project documentation across phases, including drawings, models, renderings, and details.
• Coordinate interior design work with architecture, engineering consultants, vendors, and contractors.
• Lead BIM coordination and ensure well-coordinated documentation.
• Mentor junior and intermediate designers and support studio knowledge sharing.

Education

Professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture

8+ years of professional interior design or interior architecture experience

Architecture license required

NCIDQ, AIA, LEED or accreditation preferred
