Job summary

Morris Adjmi Architects is seeking a talented Interior Designer II / Interior Architect II to join our growing Interiors team in New York. This role blends design creativity with technical execution across a diverse project portfolio, collaborating with senior leadership throughout the lifecycle from concept to construction.

The successful candidate brings strong design sensibilities, excellent production skills, and experience coordinating consultants, vendors, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
• 6+ years of professional interior design experience.
• Architecture license required for candidates applying as an Interior Architect II.
• NCIDQ, AIA, LEED, or other professional accreditation preferred.
• Strong understanding of all project phases, including construction documentation and coordination.
• Working knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and BIM workflows.
• Experience coordinating consultants, vendors, and contractors.
• Exceptional organization, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of interior design projects, from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Develop design concepts, space planning solutions, material palettes, and FF&E selections.
• Prepare client presentations, renderings, finish boards, and presentation materials.
• Produce and coordinate design development and construction documentation with increasing independence.
• Develop finish, fixture, appliance, plumbing fixture, and door hardware schedules.
• Coordinate drawings with architecture, engineering consultants, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Manage BIM coordination with project consultants.
• Assist in preparing project specifications and reviewing consultant documentation.
• Review drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with MA presentation standards.
• Participate in client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and internal project reviews.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, punch lists, and other construction administration activities.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.
