Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Project Design Manager in the United States to lead a design team from concept through construction, aligning workplace strategy with client goals.

You will guide timelines, budgets, and standards while mentoring designers and coordinating with external partners. The role accommodates hybrid or remote work with strong emphasis on collaboration and FF&E expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a CIDA or NAAB accredited institution in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 4+ years of professional design experience.
• 4+ years of Revit experience in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in architectural drawings, concepts & design.
• Excellent time management, communication, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Must be able to lead a team effort, and delegate work to all team members to enable them to work independently.
• Able to build strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver effective services.
• Understand client goals including design outcomes, space needs, budget, and measurable outcomes.
• Data collection from client and stakeholders to maximize design outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of design professionals from sketch through start of construction.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, standards, resources.
• Support Project Designers in quality review of design deliverables.
• Communicate new processes and design standards to Project Designers.
• Review preliminary space plans, safety, function, aesthetics, and code compliance.
• Review furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork specifications.
• Provide on-going training on space planning, program management and FF&E.
• Develop client workplace standards and pursue improvements to the design.
• Contribute knowledge of interior environment including materials, finishes, lighting, acoustics and ergonomics.
• Work independently or with oversight to produce conceptual to construction documentation.
• Oversee third-party relationships with architects, engineers, etc.
• Provide extensive FF&E vendor knowledge to the team.
