Job summary

Hiscox in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focused on integrations to design, build, and support enterprise-grade API and backend services. You will collaborate with product, QA, and platform teams to ensure scalable, secure solutions across the SDLC.

The role requires strong .NET experience (C#, ASP.NET), REST/SOAP, Azure hosting components, CI/CD pipelines, and SQL databases. Hybrid work schedule and a chance to influence critical insurance tech systems.

Qualifications

• Experience across the software development lifecycle with a focus on integrations, API development, solution design, build, test, release, and support.
• Strong understanding of API design, integration patterns, performance best practices, and platform governance.
• Proficiency with REST and SOAP APIs, messaging, databases, authentication, and troubleshooting integration issues.
• Solid .NET development experience including C#, ASP.NET, RESTful services, and secure backend code.
• Experience with Azure services for hosting and integration (App Service, Functions, Storage, Key Vault, API Management).
• Experience with CI/CD and environment promotion for .NET applications and integration services.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for existing systems, incidents, troubleshooting, and monitoring of code execution.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure best practices and development techniques are followed.
• Communicate status, priorities, and impacts to IT management and stakeholders.
• Work with customers, analysts, and partners to design quality technical solutions aligned with business strategies.
• Contribute to SDLC activities across multiple development projects.
• Assist with deployment across environments and post-release support.
• Develop and maintain technical designs and API specifications.
