Job summary

Hiscox in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Head of Platform for Traded policies. Hybrid role with 3 days in-office, leading modernization of the traded application ecosystem and building a high-performing engineering organization.

You will partner with underwriting, data, and operations to enable scalable growth while managing risk and regulatory compliance. Requirements include 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in leadership, cloud-native/Hybrid architectures, and strong insurance

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Proven track record modernizing complex legacy environments to cloud-native/hybrid.
• Strong insurance domain knowledge, especially P&C or traded/delegated authority.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year platform modernization strategy.
• Lead engineering delivery with CI/CD, automated tests, and DevSecOps.
• Build and scale a high-performing platform team across functions.
• Partner with underwriting, operations, and data to deliver business value.
• Oversee vendor management, contracts, and assessments for platform tools.
• Manage budgets, KPIs, and cost control within traded platform portfolio.
• Ensure regulatory, security, and operational resilience across platforms.
