Job summary

HDR is seeking a senior integrated water resources planner or engineer to join our Water Resources team. The role focuses on leadership and technical work in integrated planning for water supply, flood risk management, coastal storm risk, and environmental restoration.

Candidates should have extensive experience with watershed-scale feasibility studies for federal programs and be able to guide teams through complex economic and environmental analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or closely related field.
• 10+ years of technical and/or field experience in complex environmental planning projects.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills.
• Strong conceptual, organizational, problem‑solving and research abilities.
• Experience dealing with environmental impact issues, permit processes and documentation preparation/review.
• Commitment to active participation in our employee‑owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct medium- to large-size planning and environmental compliance projects on behalf of the federal government.
• Prepare, plan and analyze compliance documents.
• Direct work of others in completion of required studies, documents and reports.
• Demonstrate extensive public participation, agency coordination, planning and programming experience.
• Perform other duties as needed.
