Job summary

Cozen O’Connor in Atlanta seeks an experienced litigator to join its Global Insurance Department. You will handle sophisticated, high-exposure litigation across property, casualty, transportation, environmental and toxic tort matters for insurers and corporate clients.

You will work with nationally recognized trial lawyers on significant matters nationwide, manage complex dockets from inception to resolution, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across offices on national matters.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Admission to the Georgia Bar or eligibility for prompt admission.
• 8+ years of litigation experience.
• Experience handling complex civil litigation through all phases.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a substantial litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, expert discovery, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Represent insurers, corporations, transportation companies, logistics providers, and other commercial clients in complex litigation matters.
• Defend and advise clients in matters involving: Property and casualty, transportation and trucking, commercial disputes, environmental and toxic torts, mass torts, and contract issues.
• Take and defend fact witness, corporate representative, and expert depositions.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions and other substantive filings.
• Work closely with experts, consultants, and clients to develop case strategy.
• Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices on complex national matters.
