Job summary

BMO U.S. is seeking a senior Credit Risk Leader to own independent credit assessment and adjudication for US Insurance clients, focusing on Life and P&C sectors. This role partners with Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Trading, and Capital Markets to manage exposures in a regulated framework.

The candidate will lead risk governance, synthesize portfolio insights, and coach junior staff while influencing complex credit outcomes across a broad product set.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in credit risk, counterparty credit risk, insurance credit, or financial institutions.
• Coverage across U.S. Life Insurance and/or P&C sectors.
• Strong underwriting and risk management for capital markets products.
• Experience presenting complex credit recommendations to senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent credit assessment and adjudication of exposures for U.S. Life Insurance and P&C clients.
• Approve transactions within delegated authority and recommend escalations.
• Monitor portfolio quality and align with risk appetite and policies.
• Identify and structure risk mitigants for credit transactions.
