Job summary

BMO U.S. is seeking a senior credit risk leader to adjudicate and oversee complex FI transactions. You will advise senior business and risk leaders, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and policies while guiding strategic risk decisions and portfolio management.

You will lead reviews, develop analytics, mentor staff, and represent Credit Risk in governance forums. The role requires strong communication with executives and a proven record of sound judgments in high-stakes environments.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in Credit Risk and related areas.
• Extensive experience analyzing and underwriting Financial Institution clients.
• Strong expertise in trading products and counterparty risk management.
• Deep understanding of financial statement analysis and credit underwriting.
• Expert knowledge of banking products, regulatory frameworks, and risk governance.
• Proven ability to make sound credit decisions on complex transactions.
• Excellent leadership and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess, approve, and provide recommendations on complex credit transactions involving FI counterparties.
• Lead complex credit reviews, portfolio assessments, and risk management initiatives.
• Provide independent analysis and recommendations on significant transactions and emerging risk issues.
• Partner with Capital Markets, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to address complex credit matters.
• Lead portfolio analytics, reporting, and risk monitoring improvements.
