Job summary

Argo Group seeks a skilled insurance coverage and bad faith litigation specialist to join our Omaha office (also in Chicago or New York). You will provide technical support on coverage disputes and major cases, working closely with Adjusters and outside counsel.

The role is 100% in-office with standard business hours, requiring JD and at least seven years of claims experience, strong negotiation skills, and ability to manage complex litigation across lines of business.

Qualifications

• At least seven years’ experience handling insurance coverage issues and disputes.
• J.D. from an accredited law school; litigation experience beneficial.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of how an insurance company operates.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Willingness to travel about 5% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigated and non-litigated insurance coverage and bad faith claims on all lines of business, utilizing high-level technical and legal expertise.
• Conduct detailed investigation and analysis of claims to advise management on strategy.
• Negotiate complex settlement packages, set reserves and authorize payments.
• Provide technical leadership to claims personnel and management on complex liability issues.
• Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and court hearings on coverage and bad faith matters.
• Consult with management and underwriting on trends nationwide.
• Manage diary and ensure timely progress of cases.
