Job summary

Goodville Mutual Casualty Company is seeking a senior accounting leader to guide accounting operations, ensure compliance, and oversee regulatory filings. You will supervise staff and partner with the CFO on mergers and strategic initiatives.

The role requires a CPA and extensive supervisory accounting experience, preferably in the insurance sector, with travel to multiple offices. Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory requirements is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or business administration required; CPA preferred.
• Eight years of financial supervisory/accounting experience, ideally in the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of statistics, federal income taxation, data processing, and P&C insurance operations.
• Ability to supervise staff and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting and financial control functions per statutory/GAAP; coordinate CPA audits.
• Oversee policies for premium billing and collection; enforce internal controls.
• Manage corporate taxation in line with plans; supervise reinsurance accounting.
• Maintain and improve accounting/financial processing systems for cost effectiveness and security.
• Support CFO in acquisitions and mergers planning/implementation.
• Supervise accounting staff and train team members.
