Job summary

Heritage Insurance is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations for Property & Casualty insurance. The role emphasizes statutory and US GAAP reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5+ years in P&C, with a CPA preferred and strong communication skills to interact with executives and regulators.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5+ years in Property & Casualty insurance (REQUIRED).
• Strong expertise in Statutory accounting principles and US GAAP within an insurance environment.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, strategic thinking, and executive-level communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily accounting and financial reporting activities including month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate Statutory and GAAP audits and liaise with external auditors and regulators.
