Job summary

Westlake Management Services seeks an experienced Instrument Specialist (IE) to enhance reliability of instrumentation and electrical systems across the site, focusing on preventative/predictive maintenance and criticality-based planning.

The role involves calibration program development, PM optimization, and AMS implementation, with collaboration across Production, Maintenance/Scheduling, and Engineering teams. TWIC access and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Background screening and pre-employment physicals required.
• TWIC card required for access to facilities.
• Minimum 10 years Instrument Maintenance experience; 8+ years considered with appropriate maturity.
• Experience in industrial plant facilities with maintenance planning & scheduling.
• MS Office and SAP experience preferred or similar program.

Responsibilities

• Support accident prevention and environmental excellence.
• Develop Instrument Calibration database and document calibrators.
• Assist with Meridium documentation management and training.
• Investigate chronic instrumentation failures and propose long-term solutions.
• Assist in management of Instrumentation spare parts and warehouse stock; evaluate for updates.
• Review data from instrumentation PMs to optimize PM frequencies; develop documentation forms/procedures.
• Support management of control valve repairs, materials and reporting.
• Support Operations and Maintenance in RFI requests and minor instrumentation changes.
• Support instrumentation reliability improvement projects.
• Develop and improve instrumentation maintenance procedures.
• Provide maintenance input on new projects.
• Support operations during unit startups, shutdowns, and runtime.
• Assist in development of Instrumentation Training Programs.
• Support Asset Management Systems (AMS) implementation and training.
