Job summary
Westlake Chemical seeks a Specialist - IE (Instrument) to improve reliability of Instrumentation and Electrical Systems at our Sulphur, LA site. This role focuses on instrumentation maintenance, calibration management, and PM optimization to achieve safer, more efficient operations.
The successful candidate will support startups, outages, and instrument projects while contributing to AMS implementation and training.
Qualifications
- Background screening including motor vehicle record and drug testing performed before starting work.
- TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required.
- Minimum of 10 years of instrument maintenance experience preferred; 8 years considered.
- Diploma/Degree in instrumentation or related discipline desirable.
- Experience with industrial plant facilities, maintenance planning, and scheduling; SAP or similar program experience.
Responsibilities
- Support accident prevention and environmental excellence initiatives.
- Assist with instrument calibration databases and calibration documentation.
- Investigate chronic instrumentation failures and propose long-term solutions.
- Assist in managing instrumentation spare parts and warehouse stock revisions.
- Review PM data to optimize maintenance frequencies and improve procedures.
- Support instrument and control valve asset management systems and training.
