Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking an experienced Specialist - IE (Instrument) to identify and implement methods that improve reliability of Instrumentation and Electrical Systems across the site, with a primary focus on instrumentation. The role involves refining preventive and predictive maintenance, aligning maintenance with criticality, and supporting ISO compliance and training initiatives.

The candidate should have a strong background in instrument maintenance, be comfortable with data-driven PM

Qualifications

• Background screening including motor vehicle record, drug testing, and pre-employment physicals is required.
• TWIC card required (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
• Minimum of 10 years of Instrument Maintenance experience preferred; 8 years considered.
• Diploma/Degree in the appropriate discipline desirable.
• Experience in industrial plant facilities with maintenance, planning and scheduling knowledge.
• Experience with MS Office and SAP preferred or similar program.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Maintenance/Scheduling and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Support and drive accident prevention and environmental excellence.
• Develop Instrument Calibration database and use of documenting calibrators.
• Assist with Meridium documentation management and training.
• Investigate chronic failures in instrumentation equipment and propose long-term solutions.
• Manage Instrumentation spare parts and update warehouse stock; evaluate stock periodically.
• Review instrumentation PM data to optimize frequencies and develop PM forms.
• Support management of control valve repairs, materials and reporting.
• Assist Operations and Maintenance with information requests and minor instrumentation changes.
• Support instrumentation reliability improvement projects and AMS implementations.
