Job summary

Westlake is seeking an Instrument Specialist - IE to enhance reliability of Instrumentation and Electrical Systems across the site, with emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance. You will classify instruments by criticality and align maintenance plans accordingly.

You will contribute to instrument calibration, spare parts management, PM optimization, and training, supporting startups, shutdowns, and ISO compliance within a collaborative, safety‑driven environment at the Sulphur facility.

Qualifications

• Background screening including motor vehicle record, drug test and pre-employment physical.
• A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.
• 10 years of Instrument Maintenance experience preferred; candidates with at least 8 years will be considered.
• Previous experience in industrial plant facilities with knowledge of maintenance, planning and scheduling requirements.
• Experience with MS Office and SAP preferred or similar program.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Maintenance/Scheduling and Engineering department, managers, supervisors and crafts persons.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement methods to improve reliability of Instrumentation and Electrical Systems throughout the site.
• Develop and manage instrument calibration database and use of calibrators.
• Assist with Meridium documentation management and training.
• Investigate chronic failures in instrumentation equipment and propose long-term solutions.
• Assist in management of Instrumentation spare parts and revisions to warehouse stock.
