Job summary

The Global Edge Consultants LLC in Houston, TX seeks a Sr. Instrumentation Designer to deliver safe, fit-for-purpose instrument designs on site. You will lead instrumentation design on projects and serve as the technical interface with project execution teams.

You will generate all instrumentation deliverables and 3D models, support other engineering centers, and ensure compliance with standards. This role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• An Engineering Degree or a Diploma in instrumentation and work experience.
• Experience comparable with the grade in a relevant industry and knowledge of how disciplines interact.
• Experience to generate instrumentation design deliverables like wiring diagrams, cable schedules, hook-up drawings, MTOs, layouts, and 3D modelling.
• Experience in preparing control room and analyzer room layouts; familiarity with SPI, SP3D or PDS.
• Ability to interface with other disciplines to finalize cable layouts and deliverables.
• Exposure to global engineering standards and effective communication of issues and ideas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instrumentation design for company projects; lead instrument design and act as technical interface with project teams.
• Provide support to other engineering centers as workload requires; ensure compliance with standards and specs.
• Generate deliverables (instrument index, location layouts, cable schedules, wiring diagrams, analyzer panel design, MTOs, layouts); model in SP3D.
• Attend model reviews; help develop instrument design strategies; review vendor documents; interface with other disciplines.
• Implement quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
