Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support the Spent Fuel Handling Project (SFHP) near Idaho Falls. The role provides instrumentation and controls expertise across construction, testing and commissioning, reviewing design documents and I&C deliverables, and supporting all aspects of I&C engineering in a fast-paced project environment.

You will work with ISA standards, create and size instrumentation, develop control narratives, loop drawings, and system architectures,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree (or 15 years of equivalent I&C experience in lieu of degree).
• Experience across concept through construction and commissioning.
• Familiarity with ISA standards and quality systems (ISO 9000 / NQA-1).
• Ability to work onsite at Idaho National Lab and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and check design documents and I&C deliverables.
• Support construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Create instrument datasheets, data collections, and sizing calculations.
• Develop control narratives, loop drawings, and system architecture drawings.
