Job summary

Bowman is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer IV to join our Houston, TX team. The role will provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and mentorship within the instrumentation and control discipline for facilities projects.

The position requires a PE license (preferred), 7+ years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of process control systems, engineering standards, and design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of instrument and controls engineering principles.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering software for system design, simulation, and analysis.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Understanding of process control systems and automation technologies.
• Familiar with industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment sizing, selection, and analyses.
• Support engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
• Present deliverables to project teams, leadership, vendors, clients, and stakeholders.
• Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress for reporting and scheduling.
• Identify scope changes and estimate impact on effort and schedule.
• Assist proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope and estimating effort.
• Work independently.
• Prepare and review instrumentation equipment, conduit, wiring calculations, BOMs, and designs.
• Develop Operating Controls Philosophy and Diagram reviews of HMI and network architecture.
