Job summary

Bowman is seeking an Engineer V, Mechanical (Oil & Gas) for our Houston, TX team. This senior role leads the mechanical engineering department, overseeing design and integration of systems, guiding a team, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Strong leadership and broad technical expertise are essential. The position emphasizes strategic planning, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Ten+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• PE licensure preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, control systems and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment sizing and selection, alternative analyses and other deliverables.
• Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
• Present engineering and design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements.
• Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule.
• Support proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying deliverables and estimating effort.
• Monitors progress and performance against the project plan.
• Provides input to strategic decisions affecting the department.
• Works autonomously.
• Prepares, reviews, and approves electrical equipment, conduit, and wiring calculations, requisitions, lists, studies, reports, BOMs, and designs.
