Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & CSE Engineer in Houston to lead technical and operation engineering for instrumentation and process control scope, including DCS, telecoms, instrumentation, and process analyzers on major oil and gas projects.

Required are 10+ years in industrial sectors, strong leadership, and ability to coordinate across disciplines, suppliers, and project teams to deliver safe, compliant engineering results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years in industrial oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industries.
• 5+ years in technical control systems leadership.
• Total minimum 10 years of experience.
• Experience developing process control specifications and control system design.
• Experience leading initiatives and managing suppliers.
• Demonstrated experience requisitioning, evaluating bids, and reviewing/managing supplier data for instruments and process control systems, such as DCS, PLC, SIS, BMS.
• Demonstrated experience in instrumentation.
• Experience with electrical schematic drawings, logic diagrams, and panel schedules.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, other disciplines, procurement, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assist the execution lead, with an eye for managing cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting requirements for assigned tasks.
• Use strong organizational savvy and relationship building skills to influence both internal and external resources.
• Under the direction of the lead, manage the execution of assigned aspects of the engineering design in accordance with applicable specifications and standards to achieve project objectives.
• Assembles clear, accurate scopes of work and construction packages including documentation.
• Facilitates safety and constructability reviews.
• Creates requisitions for engineered items and development of spare parts list.
• Communicates technical and commercial issues to the lead as related to project objectives.
• Successfully communicates with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, procurement, and all other departments.
• Ensures all project documentation is completed.
