Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer with extensive experience in oil & gas, refining, and heavy industries to lead technical control initiatives. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills, with extensive exposure to process control specifications and instrument systems.

Responsibilities include managing design execution, leading supplier interactions, and ensuring thorough documentation and safety reviews across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 10+ years in industrial oil & gas, refining or heavy industries.
• 5+ years in technical control systems leadership.
• Total minimum 10 years of experience.
• Experience developing process control specifications and control system design.
• Experience leading initiatives and managing suppliers.
• Experience requisitioning, evaluating bids, and reviewing supplier data for instruments and control systems (DCS/PLC/SIS/BMS).
• Experience in instrumentation and electrical schematic drawings, logic diagrams, and panel schedules.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; proactive problem-solver.
• Attention to detail and accurate project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist execution lead with cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting.
• Use organizational savvy to influence internal and external resources.
• Manage execution of assigned aspects of engineering design per specs and standards.
• Assemble clear scopes of work and construction packages with documentation.
• Facilitate safety and constructability reviews.
• Create requisitions for engineered items and spare parts lists.
• Communicate technical and commercial issues to the lead.
• Communicate with leadership, engineers, document control, procurement and other departments.
• Ensure all project documentation is completed.
