Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a seasoned Field Engineer to lead a team on the Louisiana LNG project near Lake Charles. You will manage field engineering, work planning, material management, quantity validation and safety/quality control, while coordinating turnover and subcontracts.

The role requires strong CPM/leadership, coordination with design for constructability, and effective interface with startup and clients to ensure safe, compliant project execution.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction and technical inspection of electrical/design in areas such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, grounding, DCS systems and cable pulling activities.
• Experience with installing gas insulated switchgear (medium and high voltage).
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
• Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
• Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
• Basic ability to utilize the TeamWorks suite and SetRoute application as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
• Basic knowledge of PTR for routing and resolving RFIs, FCDs, and NCRs between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office.
• Basic knowledge of work packaging and interface with startup teams; STCPs and CSU processes.
• Intermediate understanding of production management including scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer duties on a medium sized job or Deputy Project Field Engineer coordination.
• Direct coordination of design constructability and material management.
• Oversee supervision of inspection plans and subcontract reviews.
• Ensure safety and quality control, and coordinate system turnover with startup.
• Coordinate between construction and startup for system walkdowns.
