Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Lake Charles, LA seeks a field engineering specialist focused on work planning, material management, and technical inspection for LNG project execution. You will ensure safe, compliant field activities and contribute to system turnover and subcontract coordination.

Required bachelor’s degree plus 5–12 years of relevant experience; strong ES&H and quality mindset; proficient with PTR/RFI processes; capable of online Bechtel databases and cost tracking; direct hire

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
• Commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
• Computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and Bechtel database applications.
• Familiar with current industry quality standards.
• Knowledge of PTRs for routing and resolving RFIs, FCDs, and NCRs between sites, contractors, clients, and home office.
• Knowledge of work packaging and basic production management including scheduling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
• Direct hire construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
• Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
• Initiates field purchase requisitions and prepares quantity takeoffs for field bought material and equipment.
• Verifies commodities in quantity tracking systems and other databases.
• Ensures safety and quality standards are followed in the operating area and equipment is safe.
• Pursues continuous learning and relevant training opportunities.
• Develops understanding of system and area scoping for package development (Direct Hire).
• Reviews inspection test plans and coordinates subcontractor submittals.
